BATESVILLE, Ind. — SAFE PASSAGE, INC. recently won a $100,000 grand prize grant from The Allstate Foundation.There were over 200 nonprofits nationwide in the Purple Purse Challenge.Funds raised in the competition will strengthen the community by providing services such as emergency shelter, outreach services, childcare, and financial empowerment training to help victims break free from abusive situations.Safe Passage was one of two organizations to win the $100,000 grand prize, by raising more money than any other Purple Purse Challenge participant.Safe Passage raised $204,014 from the community.The challenge ended on October 25.

Now Barys Astana says it is withdrawing after authorities in Kazakhstan banned sports events and restricted entry to the country.
