We believe he is a father. 81 Comments Robert Ellis died this morning after he was attacked at 3am.Updated at 2pm GARDAÍ IN NEILSTOWN, west Dublin, are appealing to the community to come forward and help track down those responsible for the killing of a man in his 20s overnight.Several men chased the victim to a house at Liscarne Gardens, where he was killed, in the early hours of this morning.He has been named locally as Robert Ellis, who was from the area. It’s believed he was stabbed a number of times, and fatally wounded.The attack happened at around 3.10am this morning.The man was at a bonfire at the St Mark’s estate. He was chased by a number of men across the Neilstown Road and into Liscarne Gardens.The man entered the back garden of a house on the road, and was found dead at the rear of the building.“We do believe he was followed in there,” Lucan Superintendent Dermot Mann told reporters today. I am confident people should have no fear in coming forward.Robert Ellis survived a gun attack last year. He had a number of criminal convictions.Forensic tests are taking place at the scene today.
