We seek an innovative visionary to lead theDivision of Physical Therapy as chairperson at the rank ofassociate or full professor. Salary is competitive, commensuratewith qualifications and experience. Relocation and start-up packageis available. The Division has a longstanding tradition ofproviding excellent physical therapy education, PT clinicalpractice, and research. This individual will be part of a dynamiceducational and work environment with a strong emphasis oninterprofessional education and collaboration.The Chairperson position may be in either tenure or non-tenuretracks, depending on qualifications. The position presents anopportunity for a dedicated and experienced physical therapisteducator to provide leadership, promote a prioritized agenda ofscholarship and faculty development, contribute to growinginterprofessional activities, and lead curricular innovation. In2019, after a year of planning, the Division implemented a newcurriculum plan based on critical assessment and contemporarymovement system initiatives by the American Physical TherapyAssociation. The DPT curriculum provides a variety of pedagogy fromtraditional hierarchical based learning to integrated clinicalproblem solving. The DPT program is accredited through 2021, andplanning for the upcoming accreditation cycle is wellunderway.The Department invites applications for a department chairpersonwho is a visionary. The successful candidate will provide strong,dynamic, and innovative leadership to advance excellence inteaching, clinical practice, and research. Candidates should have aproven record of a commitment to professional and graduateeducation, a commitment to diversity and inclusion, and effectivemanagement and interpersonal skills are required. The Chairpersonheads a leadership team comprised of the director of clinicaleducation and the director of clinical services with a robust teamof dedicated administrative staff members.The Chairperson is responsible for all aspects of academicleadership and administration within the Division including settingstrategic direction, providing mentorship and faculty development,budgeting and fiscal management, curriculum development, oversightand evaluation, and development of new initiatives. The Chairpersonalso has responsibilities in teaching and scholarly activities,advancing physical therapy practice within local communities andthe state of West Virginia, and contributing to a culture ofinclusive excellence.Qualifications :The Chairperson must meet the following criteria forconsideration: Hold an academic doctorateMinimum of 6 years of experience in higher education, with aminimum of three years of full-time experience in physical therapyeducationMeet all CAPTE requirements for a ChairpersonScholarship record consistent with appointment at the Associateor full Professor rankLicensed (or eligible) in the state of West Virginia All qualifications must be met by the time of theappointment.The department will be accepting applications until June 30,2021.Review of applications will begin immediately and continue untilthe position is filled.
